Delhi High Court rejects Neha Bora’s plea against peace bond notice

The Delhi High Court on Friday rejected a plea filed by All India Students’ Association (AISA) president Neha Bora challenging a notice requiring her to furnish a personal bond of ₹10,000 with one surety to maintain peace during an inquiry following her participation in protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Justice Subramonium Prasad pronounced the verdict on October 23, dismissing Bora’s challenge to the notice issued by a Special Executive Magistrate on October 17 under Sections 126 and 130 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), read with Section 135(3).

Bora had challenged the notice, arguing that it was vague, factually incorrect and unsupported by material establishing a likelihood of breach of peace. She also sought the quashing of the proceedings and protection against coercive action by the authorities.
