The Delhi Police has denied permission for Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s concert scheduled for October 30 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, citing security concerns and law-and-order commitments during the ongoing festive season.

According to reports, the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, South District, communicated the decision to BookMyShow after reviewing the organisers’ request to hold the event.

The police cited specific threat-related inputs, security arrangements required during the festive season and other law-and-order concerns while refusing permission, according to a letter reported by Hindustan Times.

The concert was scheduled as part of Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour, which will cover several cities across the country.

The decision has cast uncertainty over the Delhi leg of the tour, with no official announcement on cancellation, rescheduling or alternative arrangements as of Thursday.

Dosanjh has also cautioned fans against fake social media accounts claiming to recruit volunteers for the Delhi concert, warning them not to share their personal information.

The singer’s India tour is scheduled to continue with performances in Indore on November 15, Ahmedabad on November 21, Mumbai on November 27, Bengaluru on November 29 and Lucknow on December 5. A date for the Chandigarh show is yet to be announced.
