Centre appoints Sajjan Singh Yadav as J-K chief secretary
The Centre has appointed Dr Sajjan Singh Yadav, a 1995-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, as the chief secretary of Jammu and Kashmir after transferring him from Delhi.
According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on October 24, Yadav’s posting will take effect from November 1, 2026, or from the date he assumes charge, whichever is later.
The order, issued with the approval of the competent authority, was signed by Anish Muraleedharan, director in the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Copies of the order have been forwarded to the chief secretaries of Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi, along with other concerned authorities, including the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat in Jammu and Kashmir.
Yadav will succeed Atal Dulloo, a 1989-batch IAS officer, as the Union Territory’s top bureaucrat. Yadav was serving as the additional chief secretary and chief executive officer of the Delhi Jal Board, with additional responsibilities in the Delhi government’s Industries Department and the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation.
